It looks like grandstanding, snark, dramatic, piercing glares and legal know-how run in the family, as Judge Adam Levy, son of longtime TV jurist Judge Judy, will be presiding over a new syndicated daytime court show.
CBS Media Ventures has released the trailer for “Adam’s Law,” set to premiere Sept. 14 in first-run syndication.
The show was created by Judge Judy, aka Judith Sheindlin, and follows people with “real cases” wanting “real justice,” according to the trailer.
With 25 years of legal experience, Levy previously served as a Presiding Judge on “Tribunal Justice” and “Justice on Trial” on Prime Video. He also served two terms as Putnam County District Attorney in New York, and taught at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the New York Prosecutors Training Institute, according to a report by Variety.
“Judge Judy” ran for 25 seasons and ended in 2021. The series became the No. 1 first-run syndicated program, with an average of 10 million viewers an episode.
Judge Judy peppered her show with snappy quips and blunt scolding. She was known to cut TV litigants off with, “I’m speaking. When my mouth moves, yours stops.” In the trailer, Levy is shown on the bench berating a litigant with, “Think back. You have to keep all your lies straight now.”
The show premieres in national syndication on Monday, September 14.
